Seattle is a team that’s somewhat flying under the radar… That no team is going to want to face in the playoffs. With the emergence of the young star Julio Rodriguez and the deadline trade for Luis Castillo, this team is locked and loaded.
Rodriguez has an elite speed and power combo that the MLB only sees once in a blue moon. Batting behind J-Rod are Ty France and Eugenio Suarez, who combined have hit 49 home runs. Adam Frazier, Jesse Winker, Carlos Santana, J.P. Crawford and Cal Raleigh are all solid veteran players that fill out a reliable game to game lineup.
On the pitching side, the Castillo addition has been huge for the M’s. He has been lights out this season and now leads a formidable rotation that also includes big money off-season free agent splash in Robbie Ray. Young gunner Logan Gilbert has had moments of brilliance this season and looks like he will be good for years to come. While their bullpen is the one spot you can take advantage to beat them, they have a couple reliable guys in Sewald and Munoz.
Watch an episode of Frasier, drink an oversized coffee, and watch the next Mariners game. You won’t be disappointed!
Next game: Mariners @ Angels Thursday, the 16th at 7:38pm Mountain Time.
