Before we get into the game preview… Let us all take a deep breath and a happy moment of silence. The NFL is back baby.
The Vegas Super Bowl favorite Bills against the defending champion Rams tonight. You will read a lot of people say this is a Super Bowl preview, I’m not going there. Way too many things can happen between now and the Super Bowl to even entertain that idea, but nevertheless, it’s going to be a great game.
What I’m watching for:
- Are the Bills the real deal? We know they’re talented, but if they want us to take them for real this season, they need to win this game. Or at the very least be competitive and keep it a one possession game.
- Are the Rams going to be able to keep up with what they did last season? They will certainly be good of course, but I think the no Von Miller, no OBJ, and no Whitworth may be missed more than some people think.
- Can wide receiver Allen Robinson fill the void for LA? He is ultra-talented but has not performed to the level his talent would suggest. He is out of Chicago now, so no more excuses for him.
- There are quiet reports of Matthew Stafford’s off-season elbow surgery. Will that have any impact?
- Can Devin Singletary carry the load for Buffalo? This is officially his year to be the feature back. The Bills are going to need a consistent run threat to reach their potential.
What I have my eye on in the Sports Book:
- I like the Bills +2.5 (See my picks on the site).
- Cooper Kupp over 89.5 receiving yards at -115 odds.
- Game Props most rushing yards Devin Singletary at +210 odds.
- Longest reception Stefon Diggs over 23.5 yards at -110 odds.
- Pass TDs over 1.5 Matthew Stafford at -185 odds.
My score prediction:
Bills 31 Rams 28
Enjoy the first game everybody! I’m making wings to celebrate.

To kick off their 2022 NFL regular season, the Buffalo Bills take a trip across the country to take on the Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams, fresh off a Super Bowl victory in September, start their quest to repeat against a team billed as a favorite to reach the
big game this season.Allen and Diggs look to take it to another level this year starting with a Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey defense.
What I'm looking for:
1. Can the Bills Defense slow down the high powered Rams offense? They need to create turnovers to win this game.
2. How does Cam Akers look after missing almost all last season with a torn ACL, with a full off season to get ready?
3. How will the Rams passing game look with the loss of Robert Woods, and Van Jefferson ruled out for Thursday?
4. Can the Bills run the ball proficiently enough to open up the pass game?
5. And how the Rams come out fresh off the Super Bowl to start the season?
Rams +120 - I'm taking the Rams at home to cover
Matthew Stafford Over 1.5 passing TDs -185
Devin Singletary -115 over 46.5 rushing yards
Ben Skowronek +145 over 2.5 receptions. Ben is filling in for Jefferson as the slot receiver.
Prediction
Rams 28 - Bills 17
