Record Setting

by MIke Griak | Sep 2, 2022 | Inside Cover

Right-hander Spencer Strider broke the Atlanta Braves’ record for the most strikeouts in a single game this week.

Facing the Colorado Rockies, Strider struck out 16 batters, breaking John Smoltz’s record of 15 that he notched in 2005. Perhaps more impressively, he allowed 2 hits and no runs while walking ZERO!! He even threw 106 pitches, which is a lot these days (especially for a rookie).
