For the first time in nearly a year we saw Serena Williams back on the tennis court. It was great to see her back out there, it just feels right seeing her at Wimbledon.
She looked in great shape, as she always does, but father time is inescapable. After dropping the first set she looked great in the second set in which she dominated.
The third was back and forth, but you could tell it started taking a toll on her when the final set went into extra time. The match went over three hours, I’m sure she was hoping for a quicker first match.
I admittedly don’t watch a ton of tennis, but I watched this full match. I remember Serena being able to pull out the nasty ace serve when she needed it, I’m not sure she has that in the bag anymore like she used to.
Give credit to Tan – she didn’t back down from the moment.
We will hope to see Serena back out there soon.
